Very first sock!

This is my very first sock in progress. I know, I'm not that far ahead but I want to get it right. Without any mistakes.

Wip!

Knitting Little Luxuries by Louisa Harding is a beautiful book. I've decided to leave all other projects and make the Juliet Scarf see progress above.

Phew!!

Just arrived home from Edinburgh and like the saddoo I am, I have just checked the needles sizes on Ravelry and I purchased the correct needles. Yes.

Treats!!

Decided to treat myself today. I paid a visit to Edinburgh and made a beeline for John Lewis. Had a fab time feeling all the yummy yarns and all the splendid colours. But in the end I only opted for 2 sets of new knitting needles (Pony) I was missing some sizes. Only one thing though I forgot to take my size guide from ravelry so I wasn't completely sure what sizes I needed (lol). I did have the urge to buy more but I had recently bought Sirdar Yarn from Ebay and I have also placed an order at Get Knitted too. Can't wait for my goods to arrive.

Secret Mission!

I'm working on a secret mission! It is soooo secret I can't tell anyone what it is. Okay I will give you a snippet it's for my blog. It should be ready in a couple of days, with any luck and it's knitting orientated. I hope it works because it looks fab. (Squirrel slinks away, bushy tail and all, to finish her mission!)

Fantastic Books!

These books are brilliant, once you pick them up you can't put them down. As the image shows these are knitting mysteries which contain not only a novel but knitting and recipes too. I have had to buy all of Maggie Seftons books but I am also looking for new authors who work along the same line.

Another Purchase Ahem!!

I have never ever attempted to make socks (I know shame on me!). I asked my mum, who is a fantastic knitter to help me and she very sheepishly admitted that she had tried it as a young girl and had been shown by a relative on how to turn a heel but just never took to it. So I aim to be a show off and learn, hopefully I will find it easy, fingers crossed. Also my partner loves wearing climbing socks and buys hoards of them, so he is hoping I can make them for him instead. So no pressure or anything haha!!

I've been bad!!

I'm so excited, I have decided to order a few new knitting books and can't wait until they arrive. Loads of inspiration but also a chance to use up most of my huge stash. As if I need anymore inspiration, as I have tonnes of books with patterns but he-ho. Inspiration is what I need just now. I have been away from knitting for about a year, due to personal problems and I have finally come back to it and it's fantastic therapy to say the least. Just looking through past purchases has filled me with excitement but I have to remain under control. I have a habit of starting one project then another and another and not finishing the first one I started. Much to the dismay of my partner not much fun living in a house with wool lying everywhere lol. Plus I tend to become so engrossed with what im doing, I forget to speak to the dog and my partner ooopps!

Caught!

This tin was given to us as a joint present but guess who has had more than their fair share. Yip! Caught red handed. I'm thinking of ways to seal the tin so no one can get in.

Santa

I've been quite busy over the Christmas period. This little fellow was made for a work colleague's son. It was his first real Christmas (no not Santa's the little boy) i.e. he was aware of all the fuss haha. When he received it he squealed with laughter and I've been informed that it hasn't left his side.

It's cold out there!

Weather has taken a turn, it's been snowing most of the morning and it appears to be lying. It would have been nice if this had been a week and a bit earlier (i.e. Christmas ). Still nice to take the dog out in, roaming the countryside with no one else around.

Space Food

I received this space food in my Christmas stocking at first I was a bit dubious but decided what the hell lets give it a go. (seemingly this is what astronauts eat) I was pleasantly surprised this is an ice-cream saucer it isn't cold but tastes delicious really creamy reminds me of oreos. mmmmm!

Mmmmm!

Need I say more. These are for my fiance Paul who is partial to a cake or two. I have used different toppings to decorate these little cakes from jelly tots to dolly mixtures and Hundreds and Thousands. Needless to say as of today 3rd January there is about 5 missing, greedy git. lol

Invasion of the Jelly Babies

These little guys are gifts for my little niece and nephew. Colour in the photo is not great. It's a yellow and orange jelly baby. How do you eat yours?
